In a profound gesture of community support, the MSEA Meru regional office recently partnered with Solution Sacco and Grace Park Medical Center to empower the Hope for Rural Widows group in Kianjai, Tigania West through financial literacy training and critical health services.
Founded by Madam Christine Muchunku after the loss of her husband, the Hope for Rural Widows group was established to unite widows in the community and support them in rebuilding their lives. Today, the group comprises 150 widows engaged in table banking under the Joywo program, which promotes financial independence and entrepreneurship.
Recognizing the group’s potential as a model for community-driven empowerment, MSEA Meru stepped in to offer tailored support, creating a transformative partnership that addressed both financial and health needs.
