The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs Development Dr. Wycliffe Oparanya accompanied by the Principal Secretary State Department for MSMEs Development Susan Mangeni, hosted key private sector stakeholders for a meeting to discuss the highly anticipated Kenya Public-Private Sector MSME Dialogue-MSME CONNECT KENYA set to be launched in early March 2025.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary underscored the significance of this initiative, emphasizing its role in strengthening collaboration between the private sector and the government to better support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The Principal Secretary provided critical updates on an ongoing comprehensive MSME survey, the first of its kind since 2016. She urged private sector participation, highlighting that the survey, conducted in collaboration with the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) and the MSME Ministry, will use the largest sample size ever recorded for an MSME study in Kenya. The findings will provide robust, data-driven insights to shape future policies and programs.
The MSME CONNECT KENYA roundtable aims to enhance coordination between the Ministry and private sector stakeholders, addressing key challenges and fostering sustainable growth for MSMEs. MSEA CEO chairs the roundtable secretariat.
Both the CS and PS emphasized that the forum will focus on tangible outcomes, particularly measuring the direct impact of government interventions, including the number of jobs created, ensuring that MSME support initiatives lead to real economic transformation.
