H.E. Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki led the NYOTA Business Capital disbursement for young entrepreneurs drawn from Nakuru, Baringo and Nyandarua counties during a regional event held at the ASK Showground, Nakuru. The event formed part of the nationwide business capital disbursement exercise championed by H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
The disbursement follows the successful completion of Business Development Services (BDS) training, the initial business capital disbursement, and structured business mentorship that equipped beneficiaries with the knowledge and practical skills required to establish and grow sustainable enterprises.

Addressing thousands of beneficiaries, the Deputy President announced that more than 122,000 youth entrepreneurs across the country and Within the Nakuru regional cluster, over 8,900 beneficiaries drawn from 110 wards are receiving business start-up capital, comprising 4,100 beneficiaries from Nakuru County, 2,900 from Baringo County, and 1,900 from Nyandarua County. The beneficiaries include both first-time beneficiaries and continuing entrepreneurs receiving their second tranche after successfully completing the required programme milestones.
MSEA Chief Executive Officer Henry Rithaa highlighted the Authority’s continued support beyond financial assistance, noting that Constituency Industrial Development Centres (CIDCs), including those in Ol Kalou and Kabarnet, will provide incubation space and business support services to enable NYOTA beneficiaries to establish, formalize and expand their enterprises.

The event brought together Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Members of Parliament and other national and county government leaders, who encouraged beneficiaries to leverage complementary Government programmes, including opportunities under the Affordable Housing Programme and other enterprise development initiatives, to strengthen their businesses, create employment and improve household incomes.

The Nakuru regional event reflects the Government’s continued investment in youth entrepreneurship as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth. Through the NYOTA Project, young entrepreneurs are receiving the skills, mentorship and business start-up capital needed to transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises, contributing to job creation and the long-term economic empowerment of communities across the country.
