Entrepreneurs across Kenya are taking their businesses to new heights following the successful graduation of the SME Loop Program held on 26th September 2025, a transformative capacity-building initiative that equips small and medium enterprises with the skills, tools, and networks needed to thrive. Through a blend of structured training, personalized coaching, and ongoing mentorship, the program has helped participants strengthen their operations, improve financial management, and unlock new market opportunities.
During the graduation ceremony, participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievements. The program, implemented in partnership with GIZ, MSEA, KIE, and GFA, began with 100 entrepreneurs, of whom 82 successfully graduated, including 41 coached by MSEA. The graduates represented diverse sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, construction, arts, and entertainment.

Speaking on behalf of the MSEA CEO, Dr. Caroline Kaua, Director of Business Development, Marketing, and Trade, congratulated the entrepreneurs and encouraged them to apply the lessons learned, embrace innovation, and leverage government programs such as the EAC Trade Fair and the Africa Trade Gateway (ATG) network to expand their market reach.

Dr. Christoph Zipfel, GIZ Director, commended the graduates, noting that micro and small enterprises are the backbone of Kenya’s economy. He urged them to seek both financial and strategic partnerships to grow their ventures.

A highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring SME Loop alumni from sectors such as sunflower oil extraction, leather products, skincare, and coffee. They shared inspiring stories of transformation, crediting the program with improving record keeping, streamlining operations, enhancing market access, and sharpening their business vision and mission.
