ERICK OWINO, ADVOCATE – DIRECTOR, CORPORATE SERVICES

Erick Omondi Owino is a seasoned Organizational Study, Design & Strengthening Specialist and a Corporate Governance Expert with over 20 years of experience in both public and private sectors. He currently serves as Director of Corporate Services at the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA). He has also been appointed to the YOFAK Board (under Amref/Global Fund Malaria and TB program) to offer governance advisory.

He holds an MBA degree-UON, Postgrad Diploma in Law-Kenya School of Law, a Bachelor of Laws degree-UON, a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics-Moi University, CPS (final)-KASNEB and a Diploma in Human Resource Management-Kenya Institute of Management. Dir. Erick is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K), a Certified Trainer of Trainers, and has completed CPA Section 4. He is a member of Law Society of Kenya, the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS-K) and the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM-K) .

Dir. Erick has held senior roles in institutions such as Kenya Forest Service, National Industrial Training Authority, Kenya Film Commission and YOFAK (under AMREF/Global Fund Malaria and TB program), and served as a Board Member at Ngeta High School. He played key roles in transitioning the Forest Department to Kenya Forest Service and the Directorate of Industrial Training to National Industrial Training Authority.

As Founder and Lead Consultant at Erick Adams and Associates, Dir. Erick provides strategic advisory and training in governance and management. He is also a columnist for the Standard Newspaper, a mentor and coach in corporate governance.

His policy contributions include serving on the Kenya Film Bill 2021 and Kenya Film Policy 2021 taskforce, the National Treasury Committee on the Development of Preferences and Reservations Framework and Schemes in Public Procurement, and supporting the strategic development of the Kenya Film Commission. He consulted for ICS-K in developing HR instruments and designing the scheme of service for governance professionals in the public sector. He has also served as an adjunct trainer for ICS-K and IHRM-K.

Additionally, Erick consulted for Gusii Water and Sanitation Co. (GUWASCO), where he led the design and administration of employee resourcing tools that facilitated on-boarding of senior management. His career reflects a deep commitment to ethical governance, institutional transformation, and leadership excellence.
