MSEA HANDS OVER WORK MACHINES TO MSE’s AT KITALE LOWER JUAKALI ASSOCIATION

As part of the Authority’s mandate in capacity building of MSEs, MSEA held a machine handover ceremony exercise in the Kitale Micro and Small Enterprises Auto Garage with the aim of enhancing the Mses production capacity and promote business growth. The Kitale Constituency Industrial Development Center (CIDC) is occupied by Kitale Lower Juakali Association. MSEs occupying the site operate under the subsectors of mechanical works, metal fabricating, welding, woodwork, and electrical works and spray painting.

The event was graced by MSEA Director Infrastructure Development, Technology and Innovation, Engineer Edward Karani and Senior Assistant Director Tabitha Gicheru who highlighted the Authority’s role to MSEs of facilitating economic empowerment of MSEs and employment creation.

Mr Karani called on the MSEs to utilize the machines to produce quality products that meet local and regional standards for enhanced market access. The MSEA officials accentuated the need for inclusivity which is one of the core values of the Authority and addressed the importance of empowering women to join the informal sector.

They encouraged the MSEs to work together through supporting the leaders of the associations to ensure maximum productivity. They called on all MSEs to register with the Registrar of MSEs to benefit in a structured manner through the opportunities offered by the government.

The machines handed over included; Universal Vehicle Diagnostic Kit, Mig 205 welding machine, Oxy-ace trine welding set- 1 pc, ARC Welding machine 400a, Wood work router/molder, Complete Mechanical tool Kit, Bench Vice 6”-2pcs and Grinders 6” –  2pcs Assorted Consumables.

The Chairman of the Association Peter Sifuna thanked the Authority for the structured support of the Juakali worksite and mainly for the tools of work.
