The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs Development Dr. Wycliffe A. Oparanya, EGH accompanied by Principal Secretary State Department for MSMEs Susan Mang’eni, Ikolomani Constituency Member of Parliament Bernard Shinali and MSEA CEO Mr. Henry Rithaa visited the Ikolomani Enterprise Development Centre to assess the operationalization of the site. During the visit, the CS stated that the Ministry Department is committed to enhancing cottage-level manufacturing with common user facilities to refine the production processes and enhance the aggregation of MSME products leveraging the existing network of 5 Enterprise Development Centres run by MSEA in the county.

MSEA beneficiaries from the Kakamega Mafundi Engineering works (KAMEW) Association led by the Chairman Wycliffe Makale were recognized as success stories in the region. The association is supplying doors, windows and furnishings to the 220 affordable housing units in Kakamega worth Kes. 115,000,000 million.

Later, the CS issued cheques to youth and women groups in Bondo. He was accompanied by Members of Parliament and representatives from the Kakamega and Siaya county governments. Agencies under the State Department led by CEO Uwezo Fund Mr. Peter Lengapiani, Ag. CEO Kenya Industrial Estates Charles Mativo and Youth Fund representatives were also present.
