MSEA AND KIRDI PARTNER TO ENHANCE SOYA BEAN VALUE ADDITION

The Micro Small Enterprises Authority and Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) have collaborated to empower farmers, women and youth at the Malakisi CIDC in Bungoma County. This is by providing processing machines and packing materials to produce Soya Bean by-products.
The farmers at the CIDC produce all-purpose soya Bean flour which is used as a value addition product due to its nutritional benefits to enrich bread, uji, cake and chapati. To expand the production capacity at the CIDC, the entrepreneurs require capacity building on marketing of products, branding and packaging.
